That is why I prefer the size of the areas in DAO and DA2. Hinterlands I am willing to make an exception. In DAI the zones were over-sized for the lack of content within. The open-worlds of Skyrim and The Witcher 3 fit because in each area there was lots to do. The size of the area should reflect the amount of content to do in said area. So if your character could walk from The Hinterlands to Haven then yes it would be an open-world game.Ī game can be an open-world or cut into little zones and it won't matter to me so long as the area has plenty to do and the main story is good. True open world games are those you can go from point A to point B without a loading screen. (Sighs) DAI is not I repeat not an open world game.
